2008-09 OFSAA TRY DAY OPPORTUNITY
Start your students on the right path and make them feel part of your school by introducing them to a new, fun sport or physical activity. Get them involved early in the school year. Increase awareness of the benefits of participation in sport and physical activity. . . AND receive financial support of $800 to assist your program, thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Ministry of Health Promotion.
Funding will be provided to a limited number of schools to introduce secondary school students to a new sport or physical activity through a one-day activity, intramural event, or clinic. The focus must be on sports and/or physical activities that have not been available to students in the past. Funds can be used to purchase equipment, instructors, travel, facility rental, transportation and/or other resource materials.
Take this opportunity to . . .
- Start a sport or fitness club that your school does not currently offer
- Access athletic facilities and expertise within the community
- Purchase equipment to develop a new sport or an intramural program
- Hold a clinic to teach new skills to the students
- Introduce students to lifelong activities
